CorkConcept's packaging solution consists of patented cork heat dissipation panels, hydrogel, PCM phase change gel or dry ice, which can effectively adjust the temperature inside the box and balance the distribution of cold air. Pharmaceutical packaging can be kept stable in three temperature ranges of minus 70 °C, 2-8 °C and 15-25 °C, and food packaging can be controlled in the temperature range of 0-7 °C. The packaging in the temperature range specified above can be used for 24 to 120 hours of transportation, even without a refrigerated truck, which saves transportation costs to a greater extent and reduces the carbon footprint during transportation.
According to its data analysis, a cork insulated box can replace the equivalent of 3 kilograms of polyurethane or aluminum, and the production of 1 ton of aluminum will produce 12 tons of carbon dioxide. And cork oak forests (source of cork) absorb 14 million tons of carbon dioxide each year. Harvesting the bark of the cork oak regularly allows the bark to regenerate naturally. In contrast, the harvested cork oak absorbs 3-5 times more carbon dioxide than the unharvested cork oak!
